Age Appropriate Lessons and Field Trips to Shelter Available!

The Lawrence County Humane Society offers a Humane Education Program to pre-schools, elementary schools, scouts and organizations. Lois Winter-McElravy and her Therapy Dog, Raven, are available to come to your location free of charge. (Donations from our Wish List will gladly be accepted.)

Program Length – From 1/2 hour to 1 hour depending on lessons chosen.

 

Basic Lesson Includes:

  • What the Humane Society Does
  • What A Therapy Dog Does
  • How to Choose the Right Pet
  • How to Take Care of Your Pet
  • What is Neglect and Abuse?
  • How to be Safe Around Dogs

  • “Sweet Pea” the Cat Multiplies
  • Annual Cost of Owning a Pet
  • Careers Working with Animals
