Educational Programs
Age Appropriate Lessons and Field Trips to Shelter Available!
The Lawrence County Humane Society offers a Humane Education Program to pre-schools, elementary schools, scouts and organizations. Lois Winter-McElravy and her Therapy Dog, Raven, are available to come to your location free of charge. (Donations from our Wish List will gladly be accepted.)
Program Length – From 1/2 hour to 1 hour depending on lessons chosen.
Basic Lesson Includes:
- What the Humane Society Does
- What A Therapy Dog Does
- How to Choose the Right Pet
- How to Take Care of Your Pet
- What is Neglect and Abuse?
- How to be Safe Around Dogs
